In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, challenges related to this category have become a research area analyzed from many perspectives. It has been noted that issues related to health security penetrate into various areas of functioning of individuals, societies, states and institutions in the national as well as international dimension. The publication entitled HEALTH SECURITY – POLITICS – COMMUNICATION edited by Justyna Kięczkowska, Liliana-Węgrzyn-Odzioba, Aneta Wójciszyn-Wasil, is the result of the cooperation of Lublin academic centres within the framework of a cyclical event, which is a nationwide scientific conference organized under the slogan of health security. This conference is an opportunity for an in-depth discussion of representatives in various scientific disciplines: political science, international relations, law, science, security science, media and communication studies, medical and natural sciences, which in their research focus on the various elements constituting the issue at hand. The issues raised during the conference are reflected in the monograph, which consists of 6 articles. They are arranged according to the criterion of the level of analysis of health security in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, they include the macro level: global and regional, as well as the micro level: states, the interior of states and society. The volume opens with an article by Tomasz Bichta entitled Health safety in Sub-Saharan Africa in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The author focuses on an analysis of state/regional disfunctionality in the face of the need for health security during the Covid-19 pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa. Another article by Liliia Hrytsai titled The global impact of Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak on the Enviromental Sustainability discusses the pandemic's environmental impact and the mechanism of sustainability. Articles by Justyna Kięczkowska and Liliana Wegrzyn-Odzioba titled The response of the Visegrad Group countries to the Sars-CoV-2 outbreak: the institutional dimension and the text by Kinga Smoleń titled The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in Syria, show and analyze the actions of countries in the situation of an epidemic threat and the need to implement strategies to increase the level of health security. Health security and activities in its area are presented in the articles by Joanna Sosnowska titled Pandemic image of a world thwarted by a virus in a film message and Aneta Wójciszyn-Wasil titled Work of a world paramedics during the pandemic Covid-19 in Polish Radio reports. These two texts should be considered as a form of reflection on the lack of health insecurity.
